Job Description
What you will do
Performs both programming and service of electronic fire alarm systems in a commercial environment, new construction and existing sites.
How you will do it
· Installs and programs fire alarm panels.
· Performs fire alarm commissioning and setup.
· Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures by properly reading equipment, building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints.
· Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
· Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
· Conduct End-User training.
· Coordinates installations with fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
· Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment.
· Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
· Troubleshoot existing fire systems and repair.
· Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
· Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
· Be timely in your attendance at work.
· Effectively communicate with our customers and provide high quality service.
· Assist training of junior Technicians
· Install panels neatly
Job Requirements
Required:
- Texas Fire Alarm License
- NICET Level 2 in Fire Alarm preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months after start date.
- A high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Some technical school training is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to always operate fleet vehicles in a safe manner.
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- 5 – 6 years’ experience with Fire Alarm systems.
- Understand of proprietary FA systems.
- Knowledge of large fire alarm network system.
