Selectek is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer to join their clients’ team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating fire protection system layouts that meet all applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure accurate and effective design solutions from concept through installation.Relocation Assistance Is Available
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Design fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and applicable building codes.
- Use HydraCAD and AutoCAD to prepare layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists.
- Interpret and coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents.
- Ensure designs meet local, state, and national fire protection codes.
- Prepare and support submittals, permitting, and approval processes.
- Communicate effectively with AHJs, clients, general contractors, and field personnel.
- Provide technical support throughout construction, including redlines and revisions.
- Maintain current knowledge of fire protection technologies and code updates.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Designer.
- Proficiency in HydraCAD and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of NFPA standards and fire protection system design.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction and technical documents.
- NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Certification in Fire Sprinkler Design (Level II or above).
- Familiarity with pre-fabrication project processes and documentation.
