Responsibilities
As an EMT- Fire & Safety Technician, here's the work you'll do:
- Performs independent daily safety walk-throughs of production, support services and maintenance shops - identifying safety issues and taking appropriate actions (seeking approval of Safety Manager as needed), ensuring compliance with SOPs, OSHA, and DoD Safety regulations.
- Plans and conduct fire and tornado drills along with other Safety training to include CPR/First Aid Training. Prepares and coordinates Fire Prevention Week activities.
- Performs monthly fire extinguisher inspections plant wide, assuring compliance.
- First Responder for all alarms and emergency calls. Administers emergency medical care at scene of emergency and while transporting to medical facility in accordance with basic EMT standard of care and authorized protocols.
- Knowledgeable about all practices and methods regarding training and job performance in accordance with NFPA and OSHA Standards.
- Perform medical duties including new hire and annual physicals, drug screening and assessments.
Job Requirements
This role is for you if you have these skills:
- State of Texas EMT certified.
- Must successfully complete training required to be DoD Certified including but not limited to HAZMAT Awareness and HAZMAT Operations training within 12 months of hire.
- Be familiar with all practices and methods regarding training and job performance i/a/w NFPA Standards.
- Be familiar with OSHA rules and regulations.
And If You Meet These Qualifications
- Education: High School or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous firefighting experience preferred.
- Certifications: Fire Fighter I or First Responder Certification or the ability to obtain FRC within 60 days.
- Licenses/Registrations: EMT.
- Great attitude and team player.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
