Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of commercial fire alarm systems
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm devices and control panels
- Ensure compliance with FDNY, NFPA 72, NEC, and NYC Building Codes
- Manage FDNY paperwork, inspections, and system approvals
- Interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers on new installs
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians to uphold quality and safety standards
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance
- Maintain accurate documentation and closeout packages
- Provide technical support and training to end-users
- Support security, access control, CCTV, and networking systems as needed
- Represent the company professionally with clients and FDNY inspectors
Job Requirements
Candidate Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or related role
- FDNY S-98 Certificate (preferred)
- Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Siemens, Notifier) – a plus
- OSHA 10/30 and NICET Level 3 certifications – preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and troubleshooting complex systems
