
Fire Protection/ Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Protection & Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm and suppression systems design, as well as cross-disciplinary coordination with plumbing and HVAC teams. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, along with a thorough understanding of applicable codes and standards, is essential.

Pay: $101,401.00 - $120,430.00 per year

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design fire alarm systems, water-based suppression systems, and clean agent systems for mission-critical facilities using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Collaborate with Plumbing and HVAC teams to ensure fully coordinated MEP drawings.
- Apply applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, ASME, CAN/UL, and client-specific requirements, to all project drawings.
- Develop complete and cohesive design packages for permit and construction phases.
- Perform clean agent system calculations to verify design integrity and compliance.
- Conduct field visits to observe construction and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
- Write comprehensive Maintenance and Operational Guidelines (MOGs) for client deliverables.
- Actively participate in professional organizations, including SFPE (Society of Fire Protection Engineers) and 7x24 Exchange WiMCO (Women in Mission Critical Operations).
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for fire protection and MEP design.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, ASME, and related industry codes and standards.
- Experience with mission-critical or data center projects is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
