ABOUT 80 HANSON PLACEThe 80 Arts James E. Davis Arts Building is a 30,000 SF commercial building transformed into an affordable office space with shared amenities for local nonprofits. Located at the corner of Hanson Place and South Portland Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, the building provides below-market rate office space for small nonprofit arts and cultural organizations.
COMPENSATION
This is a part time, hourly position with at least 24 hours per week with an hourly rate of $25. This is a 3-month position with an option to extend.

Responsibilities
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Building Manager, the Part-Time Security Guard & Fire Safety protects life and property by adhering to the building's fire safety plan and providing an onsite presence for tenants and guests. The position is required to act as a liaison to the FDNY during emergencies. Additional duties include greeting and checking in visitors, patrolling the building, and making sure building safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Enforcement of all security and life safety policies, rules and procedures which are set forth by the building management and tenants.
- Monitor and sign-in tenants and visitors into the building daily; verifying ID and issuing building passes
- Monitoring computerized Access Control CCTV systems
- Monitor building for security breaches
- Exceptional communication skills
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current NYS Security Guard License
- Completion of a FDNY On-Line Fire & Life Safety (FLSD) course
- Must have at least 3-5 years of progressive responsibility in related field
- Valid F-89 or T-89 Certificate of Fitness a plus
