Treasure Valley, a Pye-Barker Fire & Safety company is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Designer in Boise, ID.Operate CAD equipment to provide complex layouts of fire sprinkler systems, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Possesses a solid understanding of design and drafting techniques and utilizes these skills in the development of fire sprinkler layouts and systems. Apply fire protection codes and standards to the design of fire sprinkler systems, water supplies, pumps, standpipes, foam systems, and water storage tanks.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow all OSHA standards and laws.
- Attend regular development meetings.
- Review customer source control drawings, and other applicable specifications to determine requirements of projects.
- Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
- Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs.
- Make revisions to models as requested.
- Run simulations and stress-tests on all 3D models before prototyping.
- Keep up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies.
- Pursue ongoing education in the field.
- Assist with the preparation of proposal documentation, technical data such as qualification test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc. Put together stocklists for material orders on all jobs.
- Ensures that less experienced designers are trained so that design studies, layouts, drawings, calculations, supporting documentation, etc., are properly completed on 2-D / 3-D CAD, HydraCAD, 3D BIM coordination with other trades, or other computer applications.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Provide accurate schematics per client conditions and analyze and track technical specifications including dimensions, arrangements, and installation procedures.
- Analyze and verify all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate water delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements
Education/Qualification:
- Minimum 2-year degree in related field (preferred).
- Bachelor's or Certifications (preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software.
- Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end.
- Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner.
Physical Requirements:
- This position could encounter light lifting of materials for delivery. Onsite demands would require walking and standing for long periods of time, climbing and descending ladders/steps.
