OCX Safety is recruiting a CONSTRUCTION SAFETY PROFESSIONAL to join a construction project team in Charlotte, NC. The candidate for this position will need to be able to commute to the location.

The Construction Safety Professional administers the safety program and serves as a safety manager ensuring safety compliance by the project team and all employees and subcontractors working at the site.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all safety efforts on the project and promote the client's safety culture
  • Ensure contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.
  • Ensure contractors meet client's safety submittal requirements
  • Maintain all safety-related documentation
  • Ensure contractor compliance with client's safety plan & expectations
  • Make recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or health
  • Utilize Safety Software to Audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety Plan
  • Perform daily safety inspections/audits and submit to the client and OCX Safety
  • Investigate all accidents/near misses and complete all paperwork required
  • Ensure project teams have safety equipment and resources

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BCSP credentials preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant construction safety experience REQUIRED
  • OSHA 30 Construction REQUIRED
  • OSHA 510 REQUIRED (or obtained within 90 days of employment)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies
  • Capable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective action
  • Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
