About the Role:

As the Safety & Training Coordinator, you’re more than just a safety representative— you’re a coach and mentor! You’ll oversee safety practices, lead “toolbox talks” and safety meetings, oversee federal drug and alcohol testing programs, and conduct site audits to keep everyone on track and thriving. With up to 50% travel to remote project sites, this is the perfect role for a safety expert who loves variety and the thrill of hands-on, fieldwork and fostering personal relationships with our field employees.

  • Full-Time Hours with Flexibility: 40+ hours/week
  • Travel: Visit project sites up to 50% of the time (typically Monday to Friday trips).
  • Field Environment: Work in all outdoor elements, rain or shine. You may be lifting, climbing, and working at heights.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive continuous improvement in our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
  • Engage and educate employees on safety protocols, turning rules into real-world practices that make a difference. You will be trained to train in various areas needed by NG Companies.
  • Manage and administer our federal drug and alcohol program, with on-site and facility testing.
  • Lead safety meetings, “toolbox talks,” and share safety insights that keep everyone inspired and informed.
  • Conduct risk assessments for every project scope, ensuring proactive safety measures.
  • Investigate incidents and violations, ensuring transparency and improvement across the board.
  • Regularly conduct field audits, visiting our crews to ensure quality and safety standards are upheld.
  • Oversee PPE distribution and ensure everyone has the tools they need to stay protected.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Safety Management Experience: Construction or environmental services industry background is a must.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/DOT Regulations and experience with training others, CPR instruction, and any form of the operator qualification process.
  • A self-starter, capable of planning, executing, and leading with minimal supervision. When given tasks you can complete them by the expected deadline(s).
  • Effectively convey important safety insights and keep the team engaged. You can work with operational supervisors identifying leading and lagging indicators.
  • Comfortable with lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and adhering to any applicable PPE requirements which may include respiratory protection.  

Preferred:

  • Experience or knowledge as a Hydro-Excavation Operator.
  • A degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent experience.
