Responsibilities

Programmer Responsibilities

  • Write software or upload configurations into fire alarm control panels.
  • Map devices to specific zones or addresses for accurate alarm identification.
  • Set up logic for cause-and-effect sequences (e.g., smoke detector activation → alarm → elevator recall → fire door release).
  • Conduct functional testing to verify proper device response.
  • Update programs as systems are expanded or modified.

Job Requirements

Programmer Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of strong programming background in fire alarm system programming.
  • Proficiency with panel-specific programming software (Gamewell- FCI and Edwards EST3/4).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and configure complex systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
