Our client, a product licensing company is seeking a Product Safety Compliance Manager to join their team. As a Product Safety Compliance Manager, you will be part of the Production Team supporting Merchandising department. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.
As an Individual Contributor, help develop, implement, and update best practices, policies, protocols, and procedures for inspections, audits, and testing programs.
Update safety programs for ceramics, glassware, and wall art which include documents that provide critical insight for development of a product such as assessment guides, design reviews, supplemental warnings, marketing, packaging partnership. and product specific documents for home goods, food contact, décor, and seasonal items.
Improve internal and external compliance process, to strategically streamline business and maximize work output.
Analyze compliance program for cost reduction opportunities and balancing business exposure.
Participate in discussions with Senior Management, Art Managers, and Product Development to understand product line, priorities, vendors, and program timelines.
Resolve non-conformance issues with factories and testing facilities.
Knowledge of up-to-date laws, regulations, and changes to laws that could have a potential effect on organization’s business practices.
Develop and conduct on-going training within the organization, regarding program requirements and upcoming changes to laws and safety requirements.
Involve in current system process improvement for compliance department including creating key touch points for compliance in product development cycle.
Review daily inspections, shipment photos from suppliers, manage sending out new testing request and drop testing.
