THE ROLE: EHS REPRESENTATIVEAs our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Representative, you will lead onsite safety initiatives and drive compliance with Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction (BEDC) standards and relevant OSHA, DOT, and other federal/state regulations. You’ll ensure our construction projects are incident-free, environmentally sound, and executed with disciplined adherence to robust EHS processes.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Oversight:
    • Implement and manage the site-specific EHASP, Spill Prevention Program (SPP), and Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
    • Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and JHAs, promptly addressing hazards or non-compliance.
    • Enforce OSHA standards (including respirable crystalline silica protocols) and ensure hazardous materials are labeled/stored per RCRA & DOT guidelines.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Serve as the primary onsite EHS liaison—collaborating with project management, engineering, and external agencies (BEDC, DEP, etc.).
    • Deliver EHS orientation, training, toolbox talks, and corrective action follow-ups.
    • Champion a 10X, growth-focused culture by coaching teams on best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Incident Investigation & Reporting:
    • Investigate all safety incidents, near misses, and regulatory agency interactions; develop corrective measures.
    • Maintain detailed records, generate monthly EHS reports, and track leading/lagging indicators for leadership review.
  • Hazard Control & Continuous Improvement:
    • Manage Lockout/Tagout procedures, hot work permits, confined space entries, and other site-specific hazards.
    • Introduce and refine corrective action programs that elevate safety performance and reduce risk.
    • Participate in Cardone Ventures–inspired continuous improvement cycles, reflecting a results-oriented, data-driven approach.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 10 years of relevant construction experience, 5+ years dedicated to construction EHS management.
    • Demonstrated compliance with BEDC EHS Standards and strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926, DOT, RCRA, HAZWOPER.
      • Certifications:
        • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety
        • 40-hour HAZWOPER
        • RCRA & DOT hazardous waste manifesting
        • Confined Space Entry & Spill Prevention credentials
    • Proven track record of effectively implementing EHS management systems (audits, corrective action) on major construction sites.
    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to train, influence, and uphold safety protocols across diverse crew
