Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week

Responsibilities
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Guard with a valid FDNY F‑80 Certificate of Fitness— Coordinator of Fire Safety & Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters. In this role, you'll:
- Serve as the on-site F‑80 certified coordinator responsible for operating the fire alarm and one-way voice systems in compliance with FDNY regulations
- Conduct regular fire drills, manage system inspections, and maintain compliance records
- Monitor shelter occupancy, operate alarm control panels, and coordinate evacuation procedures when needed nyguards.comnyfiresafe.com
- Keep detailed logs, support emergency preparedness initiatives, and assist staff with fire safety protocols
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid, unexpired F‑80 Certificate of Fitness (required by FDNY for homeless shelter coordinators)
- Prior experience in homeless shelter fire safety, emergency drills, or similar environment
- Familiarity with FDNY code, one-way voice communication systems, and fire alarm operations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
