Position Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer Designer will be responsible for leading the design efforts for mechanical systems in diverse construction projects. This role focuses on ensuring that designs meet client specifications and industry standards while effectively coordinating with other disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the mechanical design process from concept to completion.
  • Utilize BIM technologies to create accurate 3D models of mechanical systems.
  • Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts with other disciplines using Navisworks.
  • Develop detailed design documentation and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Conduct value analysis and quality control assessments to ensure project efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage design change requests and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Oversee subcontractor coordination and support field construction efforts as needed.
  • Participate in construction reviews and contribute to the development of construction methods and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a contracting environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for design and coordination modeling.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with prefabrication and virtual design techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and control processes in engineering.
  • Ability to perform cost estimating and value analysis for mechanical systems.
