As a Workplace Safety Officer, you'll step into a pivotal role, spearheading the maintenance and enhancement of our safety protocols and programs. Location: Remote - 50% travel across all our Data Centers
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify potential hazards and risks. Develop corrective action plans and oversee their implementation.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees, including orientation sessions for new hires and ongoing training to reinforce safety protocols.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses. Analyze root causes and recommend preventive measures to reduce the risk of recurrence.
- Collect and analyze safety data, including injury reports, near-miss reports, and safety performance metrics. Use data insights to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and standards. Ensure company compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and communication strategies during emergencies.
- Work with the project management team to evaluate and drive the work from a safety-focused approach
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization by fostering awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement in safety practices.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST), CHST, and 30-hour OSHA preferred.
- Proven experience in workplace safety management, preferably in the technology industry
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
