Allied Universal® is hiring a Medical Assistant / Emergency Medical Technician. The Medical Assistant/ Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide security for a manufacturing facility and when called upon, respond to medical emergencies, and provide medical care.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to emergency calls inside the community and administer appropriate medical care
- Gather patient information and begin treatment based on signs and symptoms and data collected on scene
- Transfer care and give a pass down to incoming Fire-Rescue unit
- Complete an EPCR (Electronic Patient Care Report) on all Patient contact
- Perform security functions on property (patrol, access and egress control)
- Complete detailed medical incident reports, as applicable
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
- Sound alarms or calls the fire department in case of fire
- Triage a patient, take vitals, control bleeding, treat minor wounds as well as stabilize major wounds until Emergency Medical Service (EMS) arrives
- Apply medical expertise when someone is having a seizure, has a head injury, neck/ back injury, heat stroke, heart attack, stroke, diabetic fits, broken bones, amputations etc.
- Escalate and activate EMS when appropriate
- Perform rounds daily to ensure that the area is safe inside and outside of the building
- Partake in our medical inventory to ensure that we have all of the medical supplies we need as we need them
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and ability to provide documentation of such
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a minimum of one (1) year since license was issue
- Possess and maintain one of the following certifications:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- No prior experience required
- Effective oral and written communication skills; write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Excellent listening and problem-solving skills
- Able to encourage effective teamwork
- Able to assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Able to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Able to compile, sort, and interpret data
- Skilled at setting and achieving goals
- High proficiency at attending to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Advanced Life Support field experience responding to and handling medical emergencies without supervision
- Prior protective service experience (e.g., security, law enforcement, military)
- American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification.
- Multiple medical certifications or licenses such as RMA/CMA, CNA, First Responder, EMT, or RN
