RA Coordinator/Life Safety Officer

Primary duties and responsibilities inlcude but not limited to

• Performs Fire Safety and General Safety Inspections of all Agency sites, to include evaluation of evacuation drills and associated fire safety documents / forms
• Generates and submits reports identifying inspection results and submits strategies for correction as needed
• Establishes, provides and presents Agency training related to Fire Safety
• Assists to develop, implement and updates fire safety and emergency management plans and manuals as needed
• Conducts fire, vehicle and other occupational safety accident investigations as needed
• Provides 24-hour response to fire and other life safety emergencies as needed
• Works in Emergency Command Post and assists during Natural Disasters and other Agency disaster operations
• Maintains organized records and files to support all safety activities
• Coordinates and networks with external governmental agencies
• Performs additional related duties as requested by Vice President of Quality Improvement and Compliance
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant fire safety / emergency management experience.
• Certification in / knowledge of the NFPA Life Safety Code.
• Ability to assess and implement fire safety compliance programs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Word applications required.
• Valid and qualified NYS driver’s license required.
• Ability to maintain regular walking rounds and inspections at agency sites, with extensive travel required to various agency locations
