AHRC Nassau empowers people to live fulfilling lives. Together with Family – Friends – Community.

AHRC Nassau is a trusted leader in providing high-quality supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities across Nassau County. For more than 75 years, we’ve partnered with people and families to create personalized, community-based services that promote connection, growth, and opportunity.

Each year, over 2,200 people rely on AHRC Nassau for programs ranging from residential and day services to employment supports, respite, and more. Our work is strengthened through collaboration with our partner organizations: Brookville Center for Children’s Services, Citizens Options Unlimited, and Advantage Care Health Centers. Together, we provide a full continuum of care to meet the needs of people at every stage of life.

AHRC Nassau is recognized as a leader in the field:

We are one of only four Compass-designated agencies in New York State, recognized by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for excellence in person-centered planning and stakeholder engagement.

We are one of just nine organizations nationwide to earn CQL’s Person-Centered Excellence Accreditation With Distinction—the highest recognition for quality of life outcomes and organizational practices.

Together with Citizens Options Unlimited, AHRC Nassau is the only provider in New York State to hold both distinctions.

AHRC Nassau is a locally governed, community-rooted organization and a proud Chapter of The Arc New York, a statewide network of nonprofit agencies supporting people with developmental disabilities. Through this affiliation and as a member of The Arc of the United States, we are connected to a national movement advocating for the rights and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities—while remaining focused on the people and families of Nassau County.
