Position Description
Position Title: Lead Fire Alarm Technician (FAL)
The Lead Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm/security alarm systems for commercial customers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and test fire alarm systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct site surveys to determine the most effective alarm system placement.
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues with existing fire alarm systems.
- Upgrade and replace outdated or faulty detection and control components.
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on fire alarm systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Provide training and instructions to customers on how to operate alarm systems.
- Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, certifications, licenses and advancements in alarm system technology.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Competencies:
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in low-voltage electrical work including fire alarm, cctv, and security.
- Ability to program panels and use laptops/I-pad and applications for software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; required.
- Multi-year Proven experience as an Alarm Technician or similar role; preferred.
- Familiarity with various fire alarm system brands and models; preferred (including CCTV, security an access control).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
