Be involved in projects with our Safety & Security Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr Safety Technical Specialist to join our national team. This position is able to sit anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage or support management of Safety Team projects.
  • Manage safety and security team staff on projects, as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate project proposals responses for potential clients.
  • Provide client interface, coordination and project updates.
  • Provide Safety Risk assessments for projects or programs including safety certification.
  • Coordinate safety and security team staffing for WSP projects that require safety and security expertise.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications


  • 10+ years of experience in transportation related projects, public rail, transportation security and /or emergency management projects preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Masters' Degree in transportation safety, engineering, planning or another related field.
  • Transit Safety and Security Professional (TSSP) Certification Preferred.
  • 2+ years staff management experience.
  • Experience with Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), or Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements or guidance required.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience or training in safety and security risk assessment and analysis.
  • Excellent communications skills, written and oral.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
