Fire Alarm Field Supervisor

Location: Nashville, TN (Metro Area)

Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000 (DOE)

A leading Fire Protection and Life Safety Contractor serving the Nashville metro area is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Field Supervisor to oversee and support field operations for fire alarm system installations, service work, and inspections. This role bridges the gap between project management and field execution, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, and code compliance across multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support fire alarm technicians and installers in the field.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly field activities to meet project schedules and milestones.
  • Ensure fire alarm installations and service work comply with NFPA 72, local AHJ requirements, and company standards.
  • Perform jobsite visits to inspect workmanship, verify progress, and address technical issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource for field technicians, including troubleshooting complex system issues.
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, general contractors, and other trades.
  • Assist with inspections, acceptance testing, and resolution of deficiencies.
  • Track labor hours, productivity, and material usage.
  • Enforce safety policies, conduct jobsite safety audits, and promote best practices.
  • Support training, mentoring, and development of technicians.
  • Assist with project closeout, as-builts, and documentation when needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on fire alarm installation and service experience.
  • Prior leadership, lead technician, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, fire alarm systems, devices, and wiring methods.
  • Experience with commercial, healthcare, education, hospitality, industrial, or multi-family projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • NICET Level II or III in Fire Alarm Systems strongly preferred.
  • Tennessee low-voltage or fire alarm license a plus (or ability to obtain).
