The Category Marketing Manager focuses on driving B2B marketing strategies with an emphasis on lead generation to drive new customer acquisition and increase new business productivity. The role involves creating and executing marketing calendars, managing campaigns across multiple channels, owning digital strategies (SEO, PPC), analyzing campaign performance, and promoting cross-selling between the Fire Protection and Safety divisions. Success is measured by lead-generation volume, improved sales representative productivity, and total sales-assisted revenue.

Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly manages a team of employees.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, developing, and managing performance for direct reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Focus on lead generation to support new business sales.
  • Working within digital ERP/CRM to drive increase sales productivity.
  • Lead SEO and PPC initiatives to drive traffic and leads.
  • Drive cross-sell between current customers to buy additional services.
  • Manage marketing campaigns at all points in the customer journey.
  • Create and execute a marketing calendar, campaigns, budget, and advertising plans.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance.
  • Identify high-performing areas to guide investment decisions.
  • Ensure timely delivery and quality of marketing materials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in B2B marketing/brand management, preferred
  • 5+ years in CRM and campaign management (e.g., HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce).
  • Proven success in lead generation and campaign execution.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, PPC and digital marketing tactics.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on the phone, attending virtual online meetings, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel for work related events when needed.
