Description
Team Fishel, the Best Choice in Utility Construction, is hiring a Safety Coordinator for electrical construction projects in the Charlotte, NC area. The responsibilities of this position include conducting safety training programs as well as updating and maintaining training programs to improve the safety of electric line construction and operations. This position also includes conducting routine safety visits to enforce safety policies including PPE and identifying specific job hazards and precautions at various job site locations

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Maintain condition and operation of Emergency Response equipment
- Investigates reportable accidents, injuries and job damages
- Oversee/coordinate and monitor contract service/inspection of fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, portable gas detectors and other applicable fire/safety equipment
- Conduct/coordinate classroom and field training meetings as needed
- Assist Operations and Maintenance Supervision in preparation of materials for monthly safety meetings
- Serve as member of Incident Investigation committees on "as needed" basis
Job Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the utility construction business with a focus on safety
- Strong understanding of overhead electric line construction work
- Candidates should be accredited in safety, including OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Smith System Trainer
- Ability to perform audits and document findings of company procedures and practices
- Must be an effective communicator, and computer literate with familiarity of MS Office and Google Workspace
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) is a plus
