Now Hiring: Fire Sprinkler Fitter
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Field-Based (Manhattan & NY Metro Area)
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, extended hours, on-call rotation
Role Summary
The Sprinkler Fitter is a skilled technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of fire sprinkler systems in both commercial and residential facilities. This role demands in-depth knowledge of sprinkler system layouts, NFPA codes, and OSHA safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess technical precision, field experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams, clients, and inspectors to ensure systems are compliant, reliable, and safely operational.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
● Install and commission fire sprinkler systems, including piping, fittings, sprinkler heads, hangers, valves, and related components
● Perform regular testing of sprinkler systems, including flow tests, pressure checks, and alarm verification
● Identify and repair leaks, replace faulty sprinkler heads, and troubleshoot system malfunctions
● Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections in accordance with NFPA standards
● Read and interpret construction blueprints, hydraulic calculations, and shop drawings
● Lay out pipe systems accurately based on schematics and job specifications
● Ensure installations are aligned with project scope, timeline, and budget
● Adhere strictly to OSHA regulations, site safety protocols, and company policies
● Ensure all work complies with NFPA 13, 25, 72, and other applicable codes and local fire regulations
● Participate in job hazard analysis and ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times
● Liaise with site foremen, general contractors, inspectors, and project managers during all project phases.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
● Minimum 3–5 years experience in sprinkler system installation, inspection, or repair (commercial/residential)
● OSHA 30 certification (mandatory)
● Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes (13, 14, 25, 72, etc.)
● High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training an asset)
● Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
