We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to join our team. This newly created position is due to incredible company growth and stability. The position shall develop, establish, and manage our corporate safety program, which shall be designed to exceed construction industry standards and position the organization as a leader is safety.

Responsibilities

  • Develop safety program identifying specific goals and objectives to enhance company safety performance
  • Develop construction work plans and project start-up safety programs
  • Develop and implement company-wide safety training programs
  • Create and manage post-injury management program
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and safety audits to assess performance against company, NYC and OSHA standards Qualifications and Requirements: NYC Safety Manager certification, Prefer someone with a Fire Safety Certification as well (Not Required) 10 years’ experience in building construction safety; New York City highly preferred Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 required OSHA 500 a Big Plus Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills required Travel during the business day between company locations and job sites
  • Review contractor Job-Site Safety Plans, Pre-Task Safety Work Plans, and safe work practices. Monitor contractor compliance with the Owner’s Construction Safety Program requirements, Owner’s guidelines, and plant safety requirements.
  • Assure contractor implementation of Job-Site Safety Orientations, drug testing and safety training requirements.
  • Perform and document daily and weekly site Safety inspections.
  • Perform daily observations and complete a daily report Participate in a weekly safety walk with Owner, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Be the liaison with Plant Safety representative(s) and Contractor Safety representatives.
  • Assure contractor investigation, tracking, and incident report preparation for Safety and Near Miss incidents; assure follow-up as required by the Owner and governing agencies.

Job Requirements

Must have at least 5-10 years’ experience as an on-site Construction Safety Manager. Would prefer someone who is NYC-DOB certified, or OSHA 500/OSHA501 certified, but not required.
