Title: Campus Security Offi cer
Reports to: Director of Operations
Supervises: N/A
Position: Part-time, Hourly
Anticipated Pay Range: $18.00-21.00/hour
Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Operations or their appointed representative, the campus security offi cer assumes responsibility for ensuring the security and safety of all individuals and property within the campus premises. This includes students, faculty, staff, visitors, and community members. Upholding the policies and procedures outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook is paramount to achieving this goal. The campus security offi cer maintains a vigilant presence through regular patrols and supervision of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and any other designated areas, including restrooms. Their primary objective is to deter and prevent any unlawful activities, thereby fostering a secure environment conducive to learning and community engagement.
In the event of any potential security threats or breaches, the campus security offi cer collaborates with relevant school administration and law enforcement agencies to address the situation promptly and effectively.
Effective communication skills are essential for the campus security offi cer, as they must be able to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions. Additionally, the ability to articulate school policies and regulations to various stakeholders in a tactful and diplomatic manner is crucial for maintaining order and harmony within the campus community.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 29 per week

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Station at Security Stand located in front of campus
● Patrol the campus, including school buildings, restroom, and parking lots.
● Observe student behavior to prevent altercations and campus disorder.
● Check, monitor, and question students or visitors.
● Check in all visitors through the security system.
● Supervise student conduct to prevent vandalism, theft, and other illegal activities.
● Assist with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
● Report illegal activity to the administration and when necessary, contact local enforcement agencies.
● Apprehend individuals abusing school property or those engaged in misconduct. It must be noted that the campus security guard should always protect himself/herself and not approach someone they deem to be dangerous.
● Develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders through appropriate communication.
● Report campus hazards or activities that may affect school safety.
● Act as a resource to assist administration, counseling, and formation departments.
● Check, open, and lock doors, windows, and gates as needed.
● Provide security during the school day, evening-related campus activities, and evening-related non-campus activities as requested.
● Assist administration in conducting student searches.
● Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, run and walk on hard or uneven surfaces for extended periods; bend, squat and/or stoop for brief periods of time and climb bleachers and/or stairs; reach above shoulder level for brief periods of time; push, pull, lift or carry 50lbs. Exercise during the performance of their duties the amount of physical control reasonably necessary to maintain order, protect property or the health and well-being of all stakeholders. Qualifi cations
The successful candidate should have the following skills, experiences and qualities:
● Required to be physically fi t and being able to lift and carry weight of up to 30lbs.
● A high school diploma with proven ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
● Familiarity with safety protocols and emergency procedures.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
● Ability to adhere to safe working practices as defi ned by industry and regulatory standards.

● Methods of collecting and organizing data and information Valid California driver’s license, clear, unrestricted DMV record; a DMV report will be required prior to and periodically during employment. Alternate/extended shifts periodically required for events support. This is a full time, non-exempt position with full Medical, Dental, Vision, and Retirement benefi ts offered. Vacation benefi ts include fi fteen paid holidays plus the accrual of PTO after probationary period ends. Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check and fi ngerprinting is required.
