Salary Range: $24.00 - $38.50

Department Details

Full Time M-F Days. Inspect and maintain mechanical equipment

  • Perform preventative maintenance on medical equipment such as, medical vacuum pumps, medical air compressors and instrument air compressors
  • Perform preventative maintenance on life safety equipment such as, won doors, smoke curtains and roll up fire doors
  • Inspect, maintain and PM fire sprinkler system components such as, flows, tampers, dry valves and pre action dry valves

Responsibilities

The Fire Safety Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and maintaining a regular inspection schedule for fire alarm system, fire sprinkler, fire suppression and other life safety systems. Documents all testing and activities for Joint Commission. Assists other skilled trades and contractors with projects. Acts as a resource for Maintenance Department staff. Performs information review training with new employees in Maintenance Department.

Due to the importance of documenting technical work done, accurate and timely completion of all service reports and other documents is very important. Basic computer skills necessary. Remains current on new technology, methodology, and equipment. Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade school or vocational school preferred.

When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
