Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $39.50 per hour

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer Fire Alarm systems.
  • Ensure project contracts are reviewed, tasked, scheduled, and executed to meet the life safety needs of our clients.
  • Oversee daily workflow of the Fire Alarm Service and Installation department and field staff.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate personnel to ensure installations are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop clear and concise goals for the department; provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Manage the requisition of materials and equipment needed to complete projects; follow up on lead times and deliveries.
  • Coordinate with senior management, sales managers, field technicians, and other office staff to ensure proper handover of job information.
  • Track and modify project schedules as needed, documenting events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.
  • Ensure change orders/change estimates are completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports for management and/or clients.
  • Maintain proactive, dynamic, and effective communication with clients at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, permits, and safety industry standards.
  • Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices.
  • Follow all RAEL work rules, policies, and safety guidelines.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry
  • Preferred: 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and directly related experience will also be considered
  • Knowledge of National (NFPA) and NYC fire alarm codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of Notifier equipment in fire alarm design and installation
  • NICET Level II certification and 40-Hour SST; NICET Level III preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend MEPS, FA, and FP plans
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or other specialized fire alarm design software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
