Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Design Specialist to join our team and support commercial fire alarm construction projects. This role involves close collaboration with field operations and customers to produce accurate CAD design packages and ensure project success from start to finish.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design commercial fire alarm systems in compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams and external clients.
- Create CAD-based design packages including floor plans, riser diagrams, panel layouts, and calculations.
- Review scope of work, product specs, and code compliance for alignment with project goals.
- Track and manage multiple projects through various construction phases.
- Update drawings based on field changes to develop accurate as-built documents.
- Maintain consistent communication regarding design updates, schedules, and approvals.
- Prepare professional design documents using in-house printing resources.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations team.
Job Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with fire alarm systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D floor plans, blocks, external references, page setups).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and Adobe.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and ability to interpret construction drawings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in fire alarm system design.
- Experience with BlueBeam.
- NICET certification or other relevant credentials.
- Understanding of how fire alarm systems integrate with other trades.
- Professional demeanor and team-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable kneeling, stooping, and crawling.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record per company policy.
