Responsibilities
Piper Fire Protection’s Clearwater, FL branch is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Technician to join our team. This role involves installation, service, and inspection of fire suppression systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Suppression systems.
- Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections.
- Communicate with customers before and after each service call to explain work performed.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.
- Maintain daily communication with the Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator regarding inspection or project delays, requirements, and job status.
- Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
- Mentor technicians on tools and technology when needed.
Job Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Familiarity with fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes.
- Proficiency with computers and smart devices, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Route experience and a sales background are a strong plus.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand for 8 hours, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to be able to withstand working in temperatures that may exceed 100 degrees. The employee will need to have the ability to walk in excess of 1 mile in a day.
