The Fire Safety Specialist provides technical assistance for the implementation of the Hospital’s Fire Protection Program in areas of operations, training, maintenance, construction, engineering, inspection and procurement.

This is a full time position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$67,500-$86,500/Annual

Responsibilities

Required Criteria

  • One year of experience in a Healthcare environment or a fire-protection-related field
  • Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission standards, NFPA standards, NYC Fire Department Directives, NYC Fire and Building Codes and OSHA regulations
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with word processing, database management and spreadsheet development and cloud systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills

Preferred Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or related field
  • Fire Drill Conductor
  • Fire Safety Director
