Job Description
Position Summary:
The Fire Pump Technician Helper assists in the inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and installation of fire pump systems in accordance with NFPA 25, NFPA 20 and local fire code requirements. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the fire protection industry and looking to grow into a technician-level position.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.85 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Fire Pump Technicians in performing inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on fire pump systems (electric and diesel-driven).
- Help with loading/unloading equipment, setting up job sites, and ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available.
- Assist with connecting gauges and flow meters during pump tests.
- Support in documenting findings and completing inspection forms and service reports accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, vehicles, and tools.
- Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or technician.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in plumbing, mechanical, or fire protection trades is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces, on ladders, and outdoors.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed at various commercial and residential job sites.
- May require early start times, overtime, or occasional weekend work.
- Exposure to loud noises, machinery, and outdoor weather conditions.
