Job Details:We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a safety professional who is passionate about promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with national safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.2. Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling of chemicals and substances (Hazcom).3. Maintain safety files and records, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and OSHA 1910 documentation.4. Conduct safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.5. Conduct post-accident investigation and prepare a report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.6. Assist in the development, evaluation, and upgrading of safety programs.7. Participate in Safety Committee meetings.8. Stay up-to-date with developments in OSHA regulations and best practices in the field of safety.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.2. Minimum of five years of progressive experience in a safety role within the manufacturing industry.3. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, Hazcom, SDS, and OSHA 1910.4. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) would be an advantage.5. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.8. Ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.9. Demonstrated ability to conduct safety inspections, prepare reports, and maintain safety records.10. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
