Responsibilities

What this job involves – The HSSE Manager must have an unwavering commitment to safety and demonstrate strong leadership for the account team as the subject matter expert for HSSE.  To be successful in this role, the HSSE Manager must develop and sustain JLL health and safety programs and procedures, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide the account team SME guidance in diverse areas including risk assessments, JHA development, O&M Class III/IV asbestos work, respiratory and fall protection, confined space, safety training, and other areas to foster a robust safety culture. The HSSE Manager must possess a collaborative work style to effectively work in a team environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership and drive the development and implementation of HSSE management systems and compliance programs at Client site.
  • Ensure the tracking and reporting of HSSE metrics and measure performance against key performance indicators. Establish necessary plans to meet or exceed key performance indicators.
  • Evaluate hazards with respect to JLL scope on client site for safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Ensure timely reporting and investigation of JLL and contractor incidents and injuries including RCA, CAPA’s and Lessons Learned.
  • Implement HSSE qualification program to manage JLL service partners working at Client location and under the JLL scope of work.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate assignments for JLL regulatory and internal training requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of all HSSE policies and procedures and adherence by the on-site account team, including the completion of JHA’s and risk assessments.
  • Assume the role of Asbestos Program Administrator, review and update asbestos management plan as required. Ensure procedural compliance and the safe completion of O&M Class III/IV asbestos work including worker qualification, medical surveillance, respiratory protection, confined space, and fall protection, as needed.

Job Requirements

Interested?  An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications.

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

  • Broad knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in HSSE.
  • Previous experience working with O&M teams regarding Class III/IV asbestos management.
  • Ability to successfully pass FBI background investigation to obtain HSPD 12 authorization to work on site.

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Health and Safety, Environmental, or related field is preferred, with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in combined HSSE. A proven track record in HSSE performance in lieu of degree may be acceptable.
  • ASP, CSP, or other professional designation(s) is desirable.
  • Previous experience collaborating with facilities management teams in a matrixed environment is a plus.
