Responsibilities
Your impactWe're looking for a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join our Life Sciences team in Conshohocken, PA who will be excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you will support the design, analysis, and implementation of fire protection systems for a variety of advanced facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. You’ll use your skills and experience to help deliver and complete challenging and engaging buildings projects.In this role, you’ll work in the design of sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm systems, and building/life safety codes under the guidance of a knowledgeable team of experienced Fire Protection Engineers. You’ll coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address fire protection and life safety challenges during design and construction phases.
Job Requirements
Here's what you'll need
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit
- Prior work or internship experience in Fire Protection Engineering
- Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards
- University level experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) (FDS) modeling and analysis
