Position Overview

iSuccess Consulting, Inc. is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support a comprehensive staffing study for a public safety agency (fire department) with 1,000+ personnel. This is a contract-based role focused on advanced data analysis to evaluate operational staffing needs, relief factor calculations, workload trends, overtime usage, succession planning, and benchmarking.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Aggregate and analyze multi-year workforce data across multi-shift operations and support functions.
  • Build staffing models, including relief factor calculations that incorporate scheduled/unscheduled leave, turnover, and succession planning.
  • Identify trends in overtime, workload distribution, and succession planning within operational and support units.
  • Integrate qualitative data (e.g., interviews, focus groups) in collaboration with lead Consultant.
  • Conduct benchmarking of peer public safety agencies and present findings with clear visualizations.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with public safety (fire or police) agencies with 1,000+ employees.
  • Expertise in workforce analytics, quantitative modeling, and staffing analysis in public sector or multi-shift environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to data quality, clarity in analysis, and excellence in written communication.
