JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Fire Alarm Manager, and the Senior Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for inspection, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of fire alarm system devices in a professional and timely manner while meeting weekly service and productivity goals. Position will also assist with the supervision of inspection, installation, and service Fire Alarm projects within the District while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction for our Fire Alarm customers. Support the Fire Alarm Manager in the training and establishment of safe working procedures for Fire Alarm technical staff while meeting departmental objectives.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage time to complete the maximum amount of inspections, installation, service, and repairs while maintaining a high level of quality.

Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including the driving, personal protective equipment, and lockout/tag-out policies.

Learn and ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes.

Maintain their vehicle in accordance with company procedures and ensure it is clean and organized

Participate in and aid in the establishment and execution of productivity and technical goals.

Assist the Fire Alarm Manager to ensure the technical personnel are providing a high level of customer service.

Provide training and support to other technical personnel as well as safety compliance.

Work with the Fire Alarm Manager to develop and meet financial and operational goals.

Protect and maintain company equipment.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the Fire Alarm Manager.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Possess any necessary licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.

Minimum of 5 years related fire alarm experience.

NICET II or equivalent training from manufacturers or institutions.

Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, related with NFPA standards, and industry standard products.

Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.

Proficiency with using PCs including working knowledge of MS Excel / Word as well as iPhone/iPad apps.

Ability to participate in on-call rotation.

Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

Willingness to travel out of town including overnight lodging.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.

Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
