Senior Health & Safety Engineer

As a Sr HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be accountable for overseeing and directing the organization's health and safety engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, and the implementation of the best practices in safety.

You will report directly to our Sr HSE Manager and work out of our manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA in-person.

Responsibilities


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements and maintains company HSE programs while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Proactively involved in the recognition, evaluation and control of HSE hazards.
  • Improves facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes HSE recommendations accordingly.
  • Proactively works with leadership and front-line employees to create a safe work environment and resolve HSE concerns.
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating HSE policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
  • Serves as contact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on best practices and pre-established guidelines to meet the requirements of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision of the Torrance HSE&F Manager.  

The annual base salary range for this position is $98,000-$145,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Job Requirements

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 8+ years of directly related experience in occupational health and safety/injury and illness prevention.

WE VALUE:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or related discipline
  • Certifications in safety, environmental and/or industrial hygiene (CIH, CSP or CHMM)
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Additional experience with environmental compliance programs (ie, Wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste).
