Job Description
We are looking for a Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team. This position is perfect for someone looking to start a career in fire protection services and grow with our company. We will provide comprehensive training on fire extinguisher and emergency lights inspection, maintenance, and installation services. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn inspection, service and maintenance of fire protection equipment, understanding of fire extinguisher systems, emergency lighting, and local fire marshal guidelines. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn.

We specialize in the installation, service and inspection of Fire Extinguishers, Emergency lights, and Pre-Engineered Kitchen Suppression Systems. Founded by two Electrical Engineers with extensive experience in control systems, automation, manufacturing, and business management, we bring technical precision and business expertise to every project. We are actively enhancing our capabilities through specialized training in Portable Fire Extinguishers (NFPA 10) and Pre-Engineered Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems (NFPA 17A and NFPA 96).
Compensation
- Hourly pay - based on experience
- Potential Quarterly Bonuses and future Equity Ownership
- Any hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am are paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week
- Paid at the double time rate for emergency services calls on recognized holidays

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, inspect, maintain, and repair fire extinguishers and components.
- Install, inspect, and maintain emergency lighting and exit sign systems.
- Perform hydrostatic testing and recharging of fire extinguishers.
- Learn to identify NFPA 10/NFPA 101 code and non-conformance issues.
- Learn the electrical components of emergency lighting equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Install fire extinguisher cabinets, brackets, and appropriate signage.
- Maintain proper documentation for all work performed.
- Follow safety procedures
- Have a valid Driver's License in the state of Virginia.
- Available for on-call rotation
