We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Sprinkler Inspector – Level III to lead advanced inspections, service, installations, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. This senior-level Inspector ensures compliance with all NFPA codes, state and local regulations, and internal standards, while also mentoring junior Inspectors and leading high-impact projects.
Compensation:
- Starting hourly rate is $35.00 hr. + (based on experience and certifications).
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and testing of complex fire alarm and sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and other applicable codes.
- Troubleshoot, service, and perform repairs on a wide variety of fire alarm and sprinkler equipment.
- Program, commission, and complete final walk-throughs on new system installations.
- Document inspections, deficiencies, repairs, and recommendations thoroughly.
- Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to Level I and II technicians.
- Communicate system conditions, deficiencies, and solutions clearly with customers.
- Collaborate with project and design teams to validate system specifications and code compliance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and stocked inventory in company vehicle.
- Evaluate customer systems and recommend upgrades or additional services.
- Perform emergency troubleshooting and support, both on-site and remotely.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
- Experience in advanced inspections, layout, troubleshooting, or project management.
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Windows, Outlook, iOS/Android, and industry-specific tools.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and system layouts.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
- NICET III Certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Special Hazards Suppression.
- Background in low-voltage systems or electrical engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Must occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent climbing, kneeling, standing, and dexterous work.
- Adequate vision and physical capability for fieldwork.
