Commercial Fire Alarm Superintendent
Job Description
Founded in 1984, Firetrol is the national leader in fire protection & life safety services. We are currently seeking a Field Superintendent to join our team of over 1,200 of the best fire protection professionals in the industry in our Houston, TX location.
Responsibilities
· Lead fire alarm installations from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all project specifications and code requirements.
· Supervise and coordinate field team, subcontractors, and site activities related to fire alarm systems.
· Conduct daily jobsite inspections to ensure safety, quality workmanship, and schedule adherence.
· Interpret electrical and fire alarm drawings and delegate tasks accordingly.
· Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and general contractors to address design or installation issues.
· Ensure timely procurement of fire alarm materials and equipment in coordination with Project Manager and warehouse.
· Support inspections, testing, and commissioning with AHJs and third-party agencies.
· Train, mentor, and develop foreman and helpers.
· Document field progress, change orders, and labor tracking through daily reports and project logs
· Maintain tracking of all tools and material on site.
Job Requirements
· 5+ years of experience installing and programming fire alarm systems
· Strong troubleshooting knowledge
· Experience installing and programming Notifer systems preferred
· Knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire alarm codes
· Ability to oversee large scale complex projects
· Texas FAL
· OSHA 30 and other safety certifications are a plus
· NICET Level II or higher preferred but not required
· Must be able obtain Texas Security License
