Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a US Safety & Transportation Manager located at our California Operations Facility in Shafter, California. This is a new position at this location and an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to advance their career and contribute meaningfully to a growing organization.
The US Safety & Transportation Manager will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the health and safety of project personnel and the community. This individual has comprehensive knowledge of day-to-day field operations across various projects, including OSHA and environmental regulations, work methods, and the proactive, interdependent coordination of training and meetings. Safety Manager serves as the Company’s point of contact for safety with owners, subcontractors, regulatory agencies and Fire & Flood Emergency Services, and their subsidiaries.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
Wages are dependent on experience and skill set.

Responsibilities
Position Summary
Provide strategic and tactical support for the Sr. Health, Safety, Environmental Manager in the areas of hazard assessments, audits, safety-related training, and general compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, DOT and NFPA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Requires the experience, knowledge, and skills in safety to develop and deliver of strategic and tactical routine safety.
- Work closely with Fire and Flood Project Teams as needed to ensure all safety procedures are followed and implemented within the company’s policies.
- Conduct audits and inspections of, but not limited to, work areas, machinery, equipment, and working conditions for compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Report incidents of non-compliance with codes and standards, and recommend corrective actions when applicable. Perform follow-up to confirm implementation of corrective actions. Adopt Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Incident Command guidelines in conjunction with Fire and Flood Emergency Services USA, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance regarding safety and health requirements.
- Manage all site safety documentation.
- Facilitate safety meetings and other related required meetings.
- Compile materials for safety meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes.
- Manage and coordinate substance abuse testing.

- Other duties as requested or as required.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as required and as assigned by the Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of seven (7) years full-time safety experience with emergency management.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Experience working in the Cal-OSHA-regulated area.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and cross-border operations.
- Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and other safety and health professionals.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to use MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Clearly defines goals, understands audiences, manages productive meetings, and builds team morale.
- Ability to address an audience of various sizes and effectively communicate his/her message and ideas.
- Ability to write clear and concise thoughts in a professional manner.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
