Fire Detection Unlimited, Inc. (FDU), a leading Engineered Fire Alarm Systems Distributor isseeking an experienced Fire Alarm Project Manager in their East Bay (Concord, CA) office.

We are looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Project Manager. The Project Manager holds overallmanagement responsibility for all aspects of fire alarm construction projects from conceptionthrough systems functioning/commissioning as intended. They will oversee or conductscheduling, planning, actual construction, expediting, inspection, quality control, and totaldelivery of the project according to established criteria. They are responsible for tracking,forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measures of the project. Throughcoordination with the site point of contact, this person will organize and manage all the elementsinvolved in construction - labor, temporary and permanent materials, equipment, supplies,utilities, and time. This person will have responsibility for the initial planning of a projectincluding scheduling of time, creating material stock listing, analyzing changes, and solvingproblems.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

o Review construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’ssprinkler system

o Through use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine constructionfeasibility and systems possibilities

o Create stock list for all material required throughout the projecto Develop initial schedules for preliminary project worko Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meetingcustomers’ expectationso Coordinate with other departments within office to ensure proper handover of jobinformationo Conduct long range project planning and schedulingo

Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, andprofitability requirementso Directly manage field labor force of assigned project to assure maximum productivityo Track employee hours and crew mix rates for each projecto Ensure proper staffing is in place on each projecto Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirementso Make sure change orders/change estimates are completed in timely mannero Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintenance of a positive cash flowo Continually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance withschedule and budgetary guidelineso Assist/lead during field check stage of the projecto Forecast future manpower requirementso Oversee work of subcontractorso Ensure work complies with codes and permitso Administer construction contracts, approve work quality and payment requestso Report to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modificationsrequiredo Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall companybusiness practices

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications· Construction Management degree or applicable other degree or certification from atechnical school or college· Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meetingdeadlines· One to Three years successful construction industry experience with knowledge of FireAlarm industry· Supervisory experience· Ability to coordinate and work well with others· Possess excellent communication skills-written and verbal· Be Self Motivated, hardworking, and oriented to detail.· Be a TEAM PLAYER contributing to the continued success, growth, and excellentreputation of FDU.· Military training / experience a plus.
