Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Fire Alarm Technician office based in New City, NY. The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting issues, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with life safety standards. Customer service interactions to explain system functionalities and conduct troubleshooting remotely are also expected.

Location: NY, NYC , NJ , CT

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $50,000–$75,000 (Depending on experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (On-call rotation may be required)

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and program fire alarm systems (pull stations, smoke detectors, control panels, etc.)
  • Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems
  • Troubleshoot system faults and perform necessary repairs
  • Complete job reports, documentation, and provide customer updates
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local building/fire safety regulations
  • Coordinate with other contractors and project teams on installations
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Clean Valid Drivers License
  • 3-4 years experience on Fire Alarm Systems
  • Skills in Low Voltage Engineering and Alarm Systems
  • Experience with Troubleshooting and Life Safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Technician preferred
  • Certifications in fire alarm systems is a plus ( S98, OSHA, etc.)
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs or more
  • Honeywell, Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Siemens, or Edwards systems
  • Reading blueprints and technical diagrams
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate’s degree preferred
  • NICET Certification (Level I or II in Fire Alarm Systems) is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with fire alarm systems
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, local building/fire codes
