Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SHE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and USCG regulations.
- Lead risk assessment and hazard analysis to identify potential SHE issues and implement appropriate control measures.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote SHE awareness and training programs.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and operations to ensure adherence to SHE standards.
- Manage incident investigation processes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and present SHE performance reports to senior management and regulatory agencies.
- Stay current on SHE regulations and industry trends to enhance organizational practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders regarding SHE matters.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SHE management, preferably in maritime, distribution, manufacturing, industrial or transportation sectors. If you have all of the above then even better!
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USCG regulations and standards.
- Experience in managing EHS programs in terminal, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) is preferred but not required.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve EHS performance.
- Basic understanding of SWPPP, SPCC, IIIPP, EAP etc.
- Need to have Director level experience or above.
