Description

Position will be responsible for the execution and development of Safety & Risk Control (S&RC) efforts within assigned region of Commercial Laundry Business with a focus on Healthcare and Hospitality laundries.  This individual will work closely with operational leaders, outside vendors, agencies, and safety champions across all locations within the assigned region. Driving continuous improvement, managing and mitigating risk, and creating enterprise value is key to this role.  

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, coaching and management oversight to Laundry Management, Safety Champions and other third parties across the assigned region.
  • Supports Business Unit clients in maintaining compliance with broad group of governmental regulatory agencies (e.g., DOH, Dept of Ag, OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
  • Serve as liaison between workers compensation (WC) and automobile liability carrier(s) and field to reduce and effectively manage claims.
  • Conduct compliance audits, report results, and execute remediation if needed.    Responsible for cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels across the region to support growth of business, foster and sustain a strong safety culture, and develop sustaining sponsorship for S&RC initiatives.
  • Assist with develop and implement safety process materials on an annual basis to drive continuous improvement in safety and risk control performance.
  • May represent Safety and Risk Control through presentations and communications with senior and location level management to educate, align and build consensus for risk mitigation strategies and culture change to protect people, property, environment, and key client interests.
  • Will proactively communicate with supported internal clients to help drive improved safety, and environmental performance. Further, will serve as a “coach” for internal clients to position them as primary sponsors of risk process improvements, which will include scripting of key management messages on a routine basis.
  • May assist with recruiting, onboarding, assessing training and developing field resources in various aspects of safety and risk.
  • Communicate with, and provide support to, Director of Safety and Risk Management on company wide S&RC projects and initiatives.

Job Requirements

Status and Scope:

Must possess strong interpersonal, relationship building, verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to influence culture through safety. Success in this position will require a demonstrated ability to influence and coach management and effectively raise and resolve conflict to drive sustainable organizational change. The ability to build rapport, credibility and performance- based relationships with senior regional management is critical to this role. Individual must also have sound background in understanding and applying safety principals, DOT & OSHA rules and regulations. Individual must have demonstrated the ability to lead a team of diverse professionals and provide thought leadership and strategic direction to bring optimal solutions to the business.

Success in this position will also require the ability to coach, mentor and develop personnel and have excellent listening and needs’ assessment skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience, training/certifications required.  
  • 5 + years professional experience in general business management, Safety & Risk management, process improvement or equivalent related to above description.
  • Experience in managing multi- site safety and risk environments.
  • Experience in Healthcare, or Plant environment helpful.
  • Experience must include direct interface with senior operating leaders within an organization, above the site, plant, or unit level.
  • Hybrid role with up to 75% of time spent on-site at assigned region locations, some overnight travel required.
