Job Description
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Electrical Installer to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, test, repairs, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety with minimal guidance as needed. Responsibilities
What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

- Install, program, test, repairs, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with minimal guidance as needed.
- Work closely with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training. May assist or train less experienced Electrical Installers. Refers more complex issues to more experienced colleagues.
- Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Provide basic installation assistance as directed by project lead.
- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Take ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. Observe and practice Convergint Quality Standards.
- Make suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
- Learn and perform tasks of an Electrical Installer III in order to progress through the trade program.
- Provide feedback to the Job-Lead regarding problems and anticipate time associated with an assigned task. Act as primary liaison to Project Lead.

Required
High School or better.
Preferred
Associates or better in Electronics Technology or related field.
Experience
Required
1-3 years:
- Previous construction experience including some level of electrical or a low voltage background (e.g. electrician or low-voltage technician)
Preferred
3-5 years:
Preferred Experience (but not required): - Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation - Experience with Axis/Hanwha/DMP/Avigilon/Genetec/Gallagher/Honeywell/ETC a plus - Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI); industry-specific certifications and/or licenses (NICET or ESA) - State of Iowa installer license (low-voltage) a plus
