
Lead Access Control Security Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Lead Access Control Technician/Security Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise-level access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems in medium and large commercial buildings. You will also lead a small crew when needed and ensure that all tasks meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic access control equipment and hardware.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electronic equipment and hardware.
- Understand relay logic and integrate Card Access, Fire Alarm, Intrusion, Low Voltage Power, PoE, Network, and VLAN systems.
- Install card readers, sensors, door hardware, maglocks, PTE buttons, REX scanners, and control boards for electronic access control systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on automatic or electrically operated door opening devices and related hardware.
- Use access control software and mobile applications for programming, troubleshooting, status updates, and generating reports.
- Adjust doors and related hardware to ensure proper closing and latching.
- Lead a small crew of helpers when necessary.
- Respond to service calls across various buildings and campus locations.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and general safety regulations.
- Perform after-hours emergency calls as needed.
- Assist in preparing estimates by gathering site information.
- Maintain spare stock inventory and supplies.
- Assist other departments with interconnections to security and fire safety systems.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices through ongoing training and certifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Communicate project status effectively with management and other stakeholders.
- Assist supervisors in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Manufacturer training/certifications in electronic access control systems (PDK, Brivo, RS2, S2/Lenel, Honeywell, HID, and others).
- Experience with systems such as Lenel RS2, Software House (CCURE), Hanwha, DMP, Bosch, Brivo, Hikvision, Avigilon, and Milestone.
- Certifications in video surveillance (Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, Bosch, Axis, Hanwha) and intrusion systems (DMP, DSC, Honeywell, Bosch).
- Industry experience across healthcare, education, manufacturing, utilities, financial, and hospitality sectors.
- Proficient in data terminations and physical network setup.
Physical & Basic Requirements
- Ability to work in unusual positions, including climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, or in confined spaces.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders or man lifts up to 60 feet.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
