Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Alarm Project Manager to oversee fire alarm projects from planning through execution. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong technical background (5+ years as a technician, 2+ years as a lead technician) combined with excellent communication and client management skills. You will act as the key point of contact between clients, field technicians, and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

- Prepare client proposals and project reports
- Manage fire alarm system installations, upgrades, and service projects from start to finish
- Conduct a hands-on semi-annual inspection field visit to physically review the system, take detailed notes, and mark up drawings for CAD revisions.
- Coordinate with technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to schedule and allocate resources
- Serve as the main liaison with clients, providing regular updates and resolving issues promptly
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure quality standards are met
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NYC codes, and all relevant fire/life safety regulations
- Provide technical support to field staff, including troubleshooting and programming
- Collaborate with the leadership team to streamline project delivery processes
Job Requirements
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including EST, Notifier, Honeywell, and Simplex
- Solid understanding of NFPA codes and local fire safety regulations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong client relationship skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
- NICET Level II (or higher) in Fire Alarm Systems
- NYC FDNY Certificate of Fitness (S-98)
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm Systems
- Experience with BMS integration and complex system programming
