BELFOR is seeking an Intermediate Water Damage Technician to join our team. This role is designed for individuals with hands-on experience in water damage restoration who are ready to grow their technical skills while supporting field operations. Intermediate Technicians play a key role in performing restoration tasks, maintaining equipment, documenting work, and assisting with small residential and commercial projects.

You will work closely under the direction of Supervisors and Senior Technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality restoration services for our clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions provided by Supervisors and Senior Technicians
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) on every job
  • Assist with project setup, daily requirements, and clean-up tasks
  • Document work progress with photos, notes, sketches, and moisture readings
  • Perform basic water damage tasks such as debris removal, baseboard removal, carpet/cushion removal, and cavity drying
  • Conduct daily inspections of vehicles and equipment, keeping them clean and in proper working condition
  • Operate water extraction equipment, drying equipment, and moisture detection tools under supervision
  • Assist with creating moisture maps and recording data for project files
  • Maintain a professional appearance and deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Report worked hours, equipment usage, and materials consumed accurately and on time
  • Participate in BELFOR safety training and operational programs as required
  • Travel, night, and weekend work may be required depending on project needs

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • 1+ years of water damage restoration experience preferred
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
  • Basic knowledge of moisture measurement, drying techniques, and structural assessments
  • Willingness to learn and support more advanced team members on larger or complex projects
  • Familiarity with water extraction, drying chambers, pump systems, and equipment maintenance
  • English literacy and fluency required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle under BELFOR policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of IICRC S500 Water Damage Standard
  • Working knowledge of IICRC S520 Mold Remediation Standard
  • Current IICRC WRT certification (preferred but not required)
  • Experience using moisture meters, hygrometers, and infrared cameras
  • Ability to complete moisture content logs and drying documentation with guidance
  • Previous experience operating truck-mounted extraction systems (a plus)
